| Title: | AGN in dynamic clusters & turbulence |
| Presenter: | Peter Mendygral |
I'll be discussing some work I will be doing very soon. In collaboration with Klaus Dolag at MPA, we will be taking the results of his SPH cosmological simulations as inputs into our jet simulations. The goal is to address the effects of realistic velocity and magnetic fields as determined by structure formation on jet morphology. We will emphasize on the observable consequences such as synchrotron signatures of the fields.
I'll also mention the final topic that will make up the rest of my thesis. This will be the inclusion of 2nd order Fermi acceleration in our simulations. To do this properly we need a measurement of the turbulence (and sub-grid turbulence) and a model for particle diffusion. I intend on leaving the determining of a diffusion coefficient to later work that Tom and others are doing. I'll leave that as an input to a algorithm for determining turbulence. | |
